Q: Will my website really be completed in two weeks?

A: Oh yes it will! That’s the perk of working with Simply by Katie. Not only will you be guided through all the different pieces that make up your website, you’ll also be given ample time to complete homework prior to our design date — this ensures we stay right on track for our two-week timeline!

This timeline is adjusted when adding on additional services such as copywriting or branding.

After our initial call, I’ll provide a detailed proposal including pricing and timeline.

Q: What do I need to provide for Simply by Katie to build my website?

Great question! Your role in this process is to collect all the content that needs to be added to your website. This includes sending me your logo, brand colours, the photos you want to be used, and all the words and information I’ll require to truly customize your website.

The good news is I walk you through the process of collecting all these different pieces, and I’ve tried my best to keep it straightforward.

To make the most of your website, I highly recommend investing good copy, photos and branding - this is what is going to make your website shine.

Q: Are there additional costs outside of the Simply Web Design package?

The only additional costs associated with your website are the cost of hosting your website with Squarespace and any fees associated with your email marketing and/or scheduling software. Otherwise, everything you see listed is included up to 5 pages! Optional add-ons, such as copywriting and branding are at an additional cost.

Q: How do I make sure you’re the right designer for my website?

We (virtually) meet for a 30-minute chat where we have the chance to find out if my design style and services match your business needs. I truly want to help every small business owner I can, but sometimes we might not be a good fit, and that's ok! 


Q: Do you offer payment plans?

I completely understand that investing in your website is, well, a huge investment. After your 30% deposit has been made, your next two payments are due at the beginning and end of our project. Payments can also be spread out over 3 or 6 months.

Q: How far in advance should I book?

I’d suggest giving yourself at least one month to gather your content and a little longer if outsourcing your photography and copy. With that being said, I’ve also had clients whip up everything in a week or two! 

Q: What happens after my website is finished?

On the last Friday of our design time, your final invoice will be due and your website will be transferred to you. You’ll also receive individualized training so you're able to confidently maintain and update your website.

I love Squarespace for small businesses (mine included!) because it’s an easy-to-use, intuitive platform that is easily personalizable and meets the needs of many small business owners — including adding your email list freebie, connecting social media accounts and booking calls, all with the touch of a button.
